A Dieter May Hamper His Weight Loss Attempts By Not Eating Enough

Do you lower your caloric intake excessively in an effort to healthy weight loss? Is your diet limited to a few low calorie food items? Do you avoid your favorite foods because they are fattening? Are prepackaged diet foods the majority of your diet plan?

If the answer to two or more of these questions is yes, you may be starving your diet into submission and precluding healthy weight loss. It seems to go against the grain, but if a person does not eat enough they will not lose weight quickly. By limiting their diet to fewer than 800-1,000 calories a day a person causes their body to react as though it is starving. This can cause a person‘s metabolic rate to drop by as much as 25%; which will cause that person to burn fewer calories. Additionally, feelings of depression and a lack of energy may occur. This can make avoiding temptation impossible; preventing healthy weight loss. A few lifestyle changes may be able to help a person lose weight quickly.

Offer your taste buds something exciting. Many times diet foods are bland and lack texture; this often leaves a person wanting food with more flavor. The answer to tasteless diet foods may be a spicy entrée with a variety of low fat side dishes.  Spicy foods may help a person to lose weight quickly.

Do not skip any meals. Breakfast is often skipped, but this is not a wise decision as eating breakfast will get a person‘s metabolic rate into high gear from the beginning of the day starting healthy wqeight loss. It might also be of value for a person to stop eating three meals a day. Instead, a person should have five smaller meals over the course of the day toensure healthy weight loss .

Do not submit to cravings. To lose weight quickly, one cannot submit to cravings.  If a certain type of food often troubles a person, cookies for instance, the person should try to live without cookies for twelve weeks. Following this interval of living without cookies, a person will be better equipped to indulge in one or two cookies without the fear of consuming the entire box of cookies; helping healthy weight loss.

In general, dieters do not keep off the weight lost in their first attempt. The people that ultimately succeed are those that empirically find the diet plan that works best for their situation.
