Meet Murray, an Amazon double yellow head parrot. Persistently finding unique ways to entertain their fans,double yellow head parrots are known to be one of the most talkative species of bird. Murray’s aptitude for entertainment is shown in the fact that he will sing and dance to most any song. Murray is only 3 years old, but is already talking up a storm. Jacksonville, Florida is where Murray lives with his trainer, Deborah, where much of Murray‘s time is spent training along with his companion Lucky Bud Roc, American Pit Bull Terrier. Quality time spent with a double yellow head parrot will allow the bird to bond with its trainer which will provide the necessary trust to teach the bird numerous words and phrases, as well as other feats of entertainment. Not only can they talk, they can also dance very well.

Having adequate time to train a parrot is essential as they require a family/social life. Learning words and phrases takes time and numerous repetitions. Bird trainers spend years training their double yellow head parrots to be stars. Murray has had some training, but his intensive training has only recently begun, as Amazon double yellow head parrots typically do not begin speaking very much until they have gotten to be a couple of years old.

It is not uncommon for a double yellow head parrot to have a vocabulary that consists of more than 400 words and phrases. This is a large part of his current vocabulary and it is continually expanding.
