It has been assumed by many that plagues and pestilences have
troubledmankind because they were sent to show the wrath of God by
punishing
evil doers. Despite this careful research gives evidence contrary to
this belief. It has been determined by medical researchers that these
afflictions are caused by microscopic life forms that live along side
us.. These life forms do not differentiate between people it seems,
instead attack all that are encountered. Or is there a method to the
madness of illness?
Mice, rats, cockroaches, mosquitoes and other creatures can carry
numerous diseases and transmit them to humans was discovered by medical
researchers. An important discovery made concurrently to the discovery
of transmission of disease by lower life forms was that humans often
invite infectious disease into their homes by a simple lack of hygiene.
Evidently, the difference between life and death can be cleanliness.
Standards of cleanliness vary due to variance between ethnic groups,
religious beliefs, circumstance and other factors. Indeed, locales
lacking in running water, sewage disposal and other issues find
personal hygiene to be a great challenge. Nevertheless, God provided
clear instructions to the Israelites regarding hygiene as they traveled
through the wilderness.
Why does God care about your cleanliness? What view of cleanliness is
acceptable to God? Are there simple safety measures I can implement to
protect myself and my family?
Ephesians 5:1 Therefore, become imitators of God, as beloved little
children
Isaiah 6:3 And this one called to that one and said: Holy, holy, holy
is Jehovah of armies. The fullness of all the earth is his glory.
1 Peter 1:16 because it is written: You must be holy, because I am holy.
At Ephesians 5:1, Christians are advised to become imitators of God.
Angels described God as holy, holy, holy at Isaiah 6:3 and numerous
other places in the Bible. (Luke 1:49, Rev 4:8) Jehovah‘s unmatched
purity and cleanliness are emphasized when expressed in such a manner.
God instructs his servants to be holy, because I am holy at 1 Peter
1:16. This is supported by Leviticus 11:44, Leviticus 19:2, Leviticus
20:26 and Deuteronomy 23:14.
To be like God, to be holy, we must be aware of what being holy
entails. Continued study of the Bible shows what God means when he says
be holy, because I am holy.
Revelation 19:8 Yes, it has been granted to her to be arrayed in
bright, clean, fine linen, for the fine linen stands for the righteous
acts of the holy ones.
Ephesians 5:27 that he might present the congregation to himself in its
splendor, not having a spot or wrinkle or any of such things, but it
should be holy and without blemish.
Revelation 19:8 shows that clean, fine linen represents the acts of the
holy ones. Ephesians 5:27 lends support to this statement. Conversely,
sin is often depicted as dirt or stain in Biblical verse. Consider
Isaiah 1:16.
Isaiah 1:16 Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean: remove the badness
of your dealings from in front of my eyes; cease to do bad.
Cleanliness reflects good upbringing and responsible behavior.
Individual action begins with the family providing appropriate teaching
regarding hygiene and cleanliness. Parents can demonstrate their
children God’s view of cleanliness by maintaining a clean environment
at home. As they clean, they should convince their children to help.
Cleanliness applies to family pets and all areas of the home and
garage. As time progresses, children will come to appreciate clean
surroundings and the feeling of accomplishment to be found in a job
well done.
Hebrews 10:22 let us approach with true hearts in the full assurance of
faith, having had our hearts sprinkled from a wicked conscience and our
bodies bathed in clean water.
Be Worthy, Be Clean
